Fałszywy Kulisty Model Ziemi

Sculptures from Nature is a project prepared by the Open Culture Zone Foundation and Pracownia Łazarska ( Lazarus Workshop) commissioned by Brama Poznania (ICHOT) and the Poznań Heritage Center. The author of the installation is Łukasz Trusewicz.

The objects are designed to stimulate reflection on topics related to the local environment and climate, especially in the context of the surroundings of the buildings of the Poznań Gate and the neighbouring Cybina River (tributary of the Warta).

The exhibition presents artistic installations that relate to topics related to biodiversity and the coexistence of people and animals in the city. We will also discuss the topic of water and the impact of human activities on its' pollution and the potential of using local renewable energy sources.

The presented works were created in line with the social sculptures created by the author - they are open to the active participation of recipients - including animals. On the Cybina River in the vicinity of the Poznań Gate, it is possible to charge the phone only thanks to the energy generated by the wind. Thanks to a different installation, we can contribute to less pollution of the planet. Another sculpture creates a refuge for urban birds, favoring urban biodiversity.

In the area below the Poznań Gate building, on the bank of the Cybina River, there are three sculptures: Habitat, Windmill, False round model of Earth

False round model of earths

This unusual art installation is also a collector of plastic caps. The Earth's waters are filled with fragments of plastic. By collecting the caps in the False Spherical Earth Model, we will see the oceans and seas gradually fill up.

The name of the sculpture refers to conspiracy theories, referring the shape of Earths and climate change, which, with a time are becoming more popular and absurd espacially during pandemic. The location of the globe in this location is important in the context of the behaviour of picnickers by the river. Let's think about how much rubbish, and especially plastic, are generated by such meetings, and let's keep the good of the Earth in mind. Let's remember that local actions are important for the global situation, let's fight for our planet with joint forces! The nuts are made of a material that can be partially recycled. Those collected in the globe will be donated to the Youth Climate Strike to support their projects. When segregating rubbish, let's add your input.

The installation was co-financed by the Św. Łazarz and the Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko.
